Project delivered by Pine

Pine’s scope:

Low Voltage siwtchboards’ and Medium Voltage switchgears’ engineering documentation, manufacture and FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) for Kathu 1 Thermosolar power plant, located in Cape Town, South Africa.

The plant, erected by the temporary union of Acciona Engineering and Seren Engineering and Systems, will produce 100MW. This plant will be working by the year 2018 and will provide more than 80.000 homes with electricity.

Based on its experience in similar power plants such as Ouzarate (Morocco), Termosol 1 and 2, Orellana and Valle 1 and 2, Pine supplied the following electrical equipment:

• 23 MV cabins in withdrawable units, 6,6kV, 2500A and 31,5kA.
• 7 Power distribution centers in withdrawable units, 400V.
• 4 MCC Motor Control Centers in withdrawable units, 400V.
• 14 Power and lighting distribution panels.
• 62 Voltage distribution boxes.

Pine’s engineering department takes on the installation and commissioning of the equipment on site.
