About This Project

Electrical equipment supply for La Muela II Hydroelectric Power Station

Project delivered by Pine

Pine’s scope:

Low Voltage switchboards’ and Medium Voltage switchgears’ engineering documentation, manufacture and FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) for La Muela II hydroelectric power plant, which Client is Iberdrola Generación S.A.U.:

  • 7 Primary distribution centers, main services and general services, 400V.
  • 12 MCC Motor Control Centers of the groups 4, 5, 6 and 7; refrigeration bilge and drainage pumps; ventilation, automatic doors, main gate, motor generator fans.
  • Primary distribution switchboards – power services, 125Vcc.
  • Primary distribution switchboards – control services, 125Vcc.
  • Medium Voltage switchgears, 20kV.
  • Grounding panels of the transfers’ neutrals, 20kV.

La Muela II hydroelectrical power plant, in Valencia, is part of the Cortes – La Muela hydroelectric exploitation, along with La Muela I and Cortes II power stations. The pumping jump of La Muela II uses the intakes of the upper water reservoir of La Muela and Cortes, built in the first phase. It is an underground power station that has four equal reversible groups (groups 4, 5, 6 and 7) with a total pump power of 712MW and a total turbine power of 852MW.
