Pine’s scope:

93 MV switchgears’ engineering documentation, manufacture and FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) for Koudiet Combined Cycle power plant. This power station was erected by Iberdrola Engineering and Construction and General Electric for Sonelgaz, the argelian gas and electrical company.

Koudiet Combined Cycle power plant is one of the largest combined cycle stations in the world. It is located in the town of Koudiet Eddraouch, in the province of El Tarf, on the Algerian coast, and it is equipped with 1200MW.

The main feature of this project is that 53 out of the 93 switchgears supplied by Pine were not placed in an electrical room, but in containers. The design that Pine has developed for theses shelters allows them to comply with strict mechanical requirements and makes them capable of supporting an eventual Internal Arc in the switchgears.
